Hello Manu, I'm 26 years old and I've always loved animation, but I never thought I'd be capable of working with it. I spent my life not knowing what I really wanted to do. Ever since I discovered your channel, something clicked in my heart. Now I know that I want to animate, even if it's just as a hobby. I'm still learning to draw (and I'm terrible at it lol) but I'm not going to give up, thanks for inspiring me!

3:23 It's a bit of a long shot to ask a year late, but I'm a bit stumped how to colorize exactly how Manu did on Affinity Photo 2. As much as I'd hate my highlights and shadows crushed, I'm not really sure how to approach this outside of the rectangle > color blend method Edit: I guess I can just overlay highlights and multiply shadow in separate layers and throw on a flat color and blend?

The funny thing is, those principles are to some degree now engraved in our brains. I had to do some very simple animations for my project and despite never really learning animation, I still subconsciously followed them

I actually own the Illusion of Life, it still sits on my bookshelf. I bought it almost 20 years ago when I was in college for 2D animation. That dream did not pan out... but maybe I should pick up the skill again. Animation software is a lot more accessible for hobbyists now that it was back in my younger days.

Now if only I used Clip Studio.
